Hobson Working On Pretzel Logic

It’s a bit distressing, being so close to my 50th birthday, to realize that I’ve chosen the wrong path in life. It’s clear from Art Hobson’s last two columns that I should have studied physics in college instead of microbiology. I knew a physics professor would be knowledgeable about Einstein’s theory of relativity. I had no idea, though, that being able to navigate the pretzel logic of moral relativism would come with advanced study in this noble field.

Let’s face it, anyone who can place the nation of Israel on an equal moral footing with Iran is capable of frightening intellectual leaps that would daunt most. On the one hand you have an oppressive Islamist theocracy that is the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world over the last decade or more. On the other there’s Israel. I’ve been scratching my head over President Obama’s foreign policy since he entered office. He seems, at every turn, to alienate our longtime allies while giving concession upon concession to our avowed enemies.

I’ll bet Mr. Hobson could lay that bag of snakes out straight for me.

There is a refreshing aspect to these two recent pieces though. Mr. Hobson seems to have, at turns, chided and derided persons of faith in some of his columns over the last year.

In his recently revealed position on Iran, Art reveals himself as a person of faith.

While I will definitely consider doing some more study in physics, I believe I’ll stick with my faith in God.

President Obama and Art Hobson are welcome to their faith in the trustworthiness of the Ayatollahs. Sadly, for the rest of us, this faith will ultimately lead to nuclear armed terrorists.

Appeasement on the scale of Munich in the lead up to World War II is not the answer to this problem. Stifling sanctions should be held in place and toughened until there is either a regime change or the Iranians dismantle their nuclear program. It’s not complicated. But then the genius that gave us the Aftordable Care Act is at the helm. Must be beyond my understanding.
