FAYETTEVILLE — A man who police said attempted to set up a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl was arrested Tuesday.
Zachary Patterson, 20, of 1030 Rochier St. in Fayetteville was arrested in connection with felony computer child pornography, sexual indecency with a child and possession of a controlled substance.
Police said a department detective contacted a phone number on Craigslist of a person claiming to be a 19-year-old seeking young girls for sexual activity, according to a preliminary arrest report.
The suspect solicited the detective, who was posing as a 14-year-old girl, to meet, according to the report. Patterson was arrested when he showed up at the meeting site.
Patterson remained in the Washington County Detention Center on Wednesday in lieu of $10,000 bond.
