Cappelen, Moore tie

Senior Sebastian Cappelen and sophomore Taylor Moore turned in two of the best rounds Tuesday at the Patriot All-America in Litchfield Park, Ariz., but finished in a tie for third and just one stroke out of advancing to a playoff.

Cappelen, the defending champion at the event, and Moore owned a share of the lead with three holes to play, but fell short of Toni Hakula and Kyle Westmoreland.

Cappelen shot 69-70-67-206 to finish at four under par. Moore shot 68-70-68-206.

BASKETBALL Hendrix men earn victory

The Hendrix men used a 12-5 run in the second half to earn an 81-75 victory over Centenary College on Tuesday in Conway.

Leading 34-32 at halftime, the visiting Gents extended the lead to 43-36 with 14:40 remaining in the game. The Warriors (6-5) fought back to take a 56-53 lead with 6:50 left, then went on the 12-5 run to lead 68-58 with 2:21 left.

Senior forward Colton Primm led the Warriors with a career-high 21 points. Caden Cheramie led the Gents (4-3) with 22 points.
