Vets aid program sets stops in March

Center provides counseling, advice

Veterans in rural communities across the state will have access to the Veterans Affairs Mobile Vet Center in March, the VA announced Wednesday.

Mobile Vet Center 850, based in Fayetteville, provides nonmedical readjustment counseling and outreach to combat veterans and their families, according to a news release. The mobile center is a way for the VA to address veterans’ post-war social and economic needs.

Veterans and family members will be able to ask questions about topics including individual and group readjustment counseling, military sexual assault, marital and family counseling, VA benefits, and community education.

Stops are planned in the following locations on the dates listed:

Arkansas Welcome Center, 13750 Visitors Center Road in Bella Vista, on Monday.

Wal-Mart, 1000 W. Trimble Ave. in Berryville, on Tuesday.

Wal-Mart, 161 N. Walmart Drive in Harrison, on Wednesday.

Newton County Courthouse, 100 E. Court St. in Jasper, on Thursday.

Wal-Mart, 121 Lee St. in Huntsville, on Friday.

American Legion Post 118, Missouri 112 in Cassville, Mo., on March 8.

Wal-Mart, 3150 Harrison St. in Batesville, on March 11.

Wal-Mart, 3509 E. Race Ave. in Searcy, on March 12.

Prairie County Courthouse in Des Arc on March 13.

Wal-Mart, 322 Brownsville Loop in Lonoke, on March 14.

Wal-Mart, 2730 Northwest Ave. in El Dorado, on March 18.

Hampton Elementary School on March 19.

The Bradley County Courthouse in Warren on March 20.

The Mobile Vet Center will be open from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. each day. No appointments are necessary.
