Benton County officials said there were four filings for political offices Wednesday, the third day of the weeklong filing period.
Three incumbent justices of the peace filed for re-election. Tom Allen filed for the District 4 seat on the Quorum Court; Michelle Chiocco filed for the District 10 seat on the Quorum Court; and Barry Moehring filed for the District 15 seat on the Quorum Court. Ron Ridout also filed for re-election as county surveyor.
The opening day of the filing period saw 23 candidates file for county, district and township offices. Filing continues through the rest of this week and ends at noon Monday. The party preferential primaries are set for May 20.
