PB officer on leave over assault report

PINE BLUFF - A Pine Bluff police officer has been placed on paid administrative leave after a woman reported that she was sexually assaulted Sunday, according to a department news release Monday.

Lt. David Price, a spokesman for the Police Department, said the suspended officer’s name was not being released because of ongoing criminal and internal investigations.

“Right now, this is just an allegation, and no one has been arrested,” Price said.

Price said the Jefferson County prosecuting attorney’s office has been consulted. A message left for Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney Kyle Hunter was not returned Monday.
