Rogers Victory Theater To Get New Heating, Cooling Unit

— The Victory Theater, home of the Rogers Little Theater, will have a new climate control system if aldermen approve a contract with a Springdale firm at their meeting Tuesday.

The city owns the theater building.

The city had $18,400 in the 2014 budget for improvements to the system, said David Hook, city facilities manager.

"We are asking aldermen to approve an additional $21,600 for a total of $40,000 to hire Multi-Craft Contractors Inc. to move the system off the roof to ground level. It will be a complete renovation of the system," said David Hook, city facilities manager.

Additionally, Hook is asking aldermen to enter into a long-term contract with Multi-Craft to maintain the system for the next 10 years.

"We will pay Multi-Craft $40,000 per year for seven years and Multi-Craft will continue to maintain the system for 10 years," Hook said.

The Rogers Little Theater Board of Directors agreed to pay $9,600 of the annual $40,000 contract, dropping the city's total contribution to $30,400 per year, according to city officials.

City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers of City Hall. The public works, public safety, transportation and finance committees meet before the council, starting at 6 p.m. Enter through the door on the northeast corner of the building.
