Police Link Springdale Man To Robbery, Kidnapping

FAYETTEVILLE -- A Springdale man faces felony charges after police said he helped kidnap and rob a man in November.

Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Rene Ivan Munoz, 22, of 717 Aspenridge Drive in connection with felony accomplice to aggravated robbery, accomplice to kidnapping, accomplice to theft of property. He also faces a felony charge of residential burglary in an unrelated case.

A man told police on Nov. 6 he visited Cherokee Casino in Siloam Springs and rented a hotel room Nov. 1, according to an arrest warrant. He met two women while playing games at the casino. He followed one of the women, Gloria Landeros, to a home in Springdale at 1 a.m., according to the report.

Once at the home, police said Levi Randall Partida hit the man on the face with a silver handgun, and Munoz began strangling him from behind.

The men took the man's wallet, which contained about $1,000 in casino winnings, according to the report. The man was tied up, put in a vehicle, driven away from the house and eventually let out of the vehicle.

Police said Munoz and Partida stole the man's safety deposit box that had $8,000.

Munoz also faces a felony residential burglary charge in connection with an incident Nov. 3.

Munoz told police he and Landeros broke into a home on Center Avenue and stole a leather purse, laptop computer, storage box and $1,000 in cash, according to the report.

Munoz was in the Washington County Detention Center on $53,500 bond Wednesday.

Gloria Landeros, 26, of 3001 Chadwick St. in Springdale is being held in the jail in connection with aggravated robbery on a $50,000 bond. She was arrested Dec. 18 in connection with the incident.
