Electric power was out in central Springdale for about 1,700 customers of Southwestern Electric Power Co., including Springdale High School, Thursday morning.

Power to all customers was restored before 11 a.m. The outage lasted 32 minutes.

A wire downed on Christian Avenue caused the outage for the customers, said Peter Main, company spokesman. Crews are trying to isolate the problem and return power for the majority of the customers, he said.

The reason for the break is not yet known, Main said. The outage started at 9:43 a.m.
