A Benton County man pleased guilty and was sentenced today to 11 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for receiving child pornography, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Conner Eldridge.
Santosh Ram, 32, will also be subject to five years of supervised release.
The investigation began in January 2013 when investigators received information that a man posting as a 15-year-old was soliciting sex acts from juvenile emails on Facebook and other social media. A federal search warrant was issued, and investigators seized computers and digital storage devices
Ram admitted to investigators that he used a fake profile to entice minors into sexual activity via webcam, according to the news release.
