Bentonville-based America's Car-Mart Inc. will release its third-quarter 2014 financial results after the stock market closes Tuesday.

The buy-here-pay-here used-car dealer in November reported second-quarter net income of $5.8 million, or 61 cents per share, which was 20 percent below the year-ago period and missed analysts’ average estimates of 80 cents a share. Executives cited a challenging competitive environment.

For the third-quarter that ended Jan. 14, five analysts surveyed by Yahoo Finance have projected an average earnings-per-share estimate of 70 cents.
