Top-ranked Little Rock Parkview was far from perfect Saturday, but another mercy-rule victory was more than enough to keep smiles on the Patriots’ faces.

Parkview used an 20-0 run early in the third quarter to bust open a tight game as it cruised to a 64-34 victory over Greenwood in 7A/6A-Central play at Charles Ripley Arena.

Daryl Macon poured in a game-high 27 points for Parkview (20-1, 10-0), which won its 12th consecutive game. Jaylen Franklin added 14 points.

Evan Lensing scored 12 points to lead Greenwood (5-15, 1-9).

The Bulldogs kept pace with Patriots in the first half by slowing the pace with a deliberate style of offense. Greenwood routinely used 30-35 seconds off the clock while trying to find open shots. The Bulldogs’ patience kept them within 26-16 at halftime.

Lensing’s three-pointer in the third quarter pulled Greenwood to within 26-19 at the 6:37 mark.

A pair of free throws by Ryan Pippins started the Patriots’ 20-point scoring spree, with Macon scoring eight points in the rally.

By the time Lensing hit a layup with 2:03 left in the quarter, the Bulldogs trailed 46-21.

7A/6A CENTRAL GIRLS GREENWOOD 65, LR PARKVIEW 40 Lundon Williams scored 30 points and Haleigh Henson added 16 to power Greenwood (16-5, 7-3) past Parkview. Chrystal Holloway scored 13 points to lead Parkview (11-9, 4-6). Sausha Davey added 12 points and 14 rebounds.
