A Bentonville man will not be tried this month in connection with charges accusing him of killing his wife.

Perry Davis Jr., 50, is charged with capital murder and kidnapping. He previously pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Davis is accused of shooting and killing his 44-year-old wife, Kelly, in August 2012.

The jury trial was scheduled to begin Feb. 25.

However, the trial date has been moved to April 15.

Circuit Judge Brad Karren signed an Feb. 7 order rescheduling the trial. Davis' attorneys had requested to move the February trial to another date.

Police believe Perry Davis shot himself after shooting his wife.

Davis is being held without bond in the Benton County Jail.
