Man in custody following Springdale standoff

Springdale police officers were involved in a stand off at 3080 Twin County St. Unit B Friday.

The Springdale Fire Department got a call earlier Friday for a medical emergency at 2685 Ponchartrain St. Unit B, said Lt. Derek Hudson, public information officer for the police department. A man at the address was taken to the hospital where he died, possibly of a drug overdose, according to a news release. He was identified as Joseph Fuller, 26.

Johnathan Fuller, 24, arrived at the hospital and made threats toward people he thought were involved in the man's death, Hudson said.

"He said he was going to kill those individuals," he said.

After leaving the hospital, Fuller called family members asking for help to find the people he thought were responsible, Hudson said. The family members told him to leave it to the police and he said he was going to a house on Twin County Street where he had weapons.

Fuller is in custody and was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation, Hudson said.
