The Bible Says All You Need To Know

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

Well, here we are with another election year upon us. The Primaries are in May and I really don’t like too many of our choices.

I believe no one who calls himself a Christian and says they follow the Bible can vote for a candidate that says abortion is a woman’s right to choose. What does God say about abortion? According to my Bible, God said “He knew us before we were formed in the womb,” so I think God says no to abortion.

Now, before we get into capital punishment, remember Jesus forgave the sins of the criminal who asked him “Please remember me when you get to your kingdom and Jesus replied, ‘Today you will be with me in paradise,” but the criminal was still put to death for his crimes.

Then we have homosexuality and gay and lesbian marriage. Again, my Bible says homosexuality and lesbianism is a sin. “You shall not lie with a man as with a woman. It is a abomination.” Leviticus 18:22.

All sexual immoralities are covered in Leviticus Chapter 18, from incest to bestiality.

Then we have those who say we have to give to those who refuse to work. They say they can’t find a job. I believe they think the job is beneath them. So they tax us and give to them, and when the time has expired for them to get our money we have politicians who say we need to extend the benefits. My Bible says in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 “for even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work neither shall he eat.” That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t help out, but it does mean there is no job beneath you, and you have to do something for what you receive from the work of others.

Now before some of you throw Matthew 7’s “Judge not less you be judged” at me, I’m not judging you. I’m judging myself. That means I cannot in good conscience vote for a Democrat. Since we have the Democratic wing of the Republican Party - the R.I.N.Os or liberal Republicans - that leaves me very few candidates I can vote for.

I’m not a good Christian, but I don’t want to stand before God one day and have Him ask me “what did you do to protect my children, those born and unborn” and “what did you do about the sins of gay and lesbian marriage; were you a go-along-to-get-along or did you stand up for what I told you in my book?” I want to be able to say, “Lord, I’m not perfect. You know that, but I did stand up for the unborn and I fought against the sexual immorality and the acceptance of gay and lesbian marriage, and I voted for lawmakers who believed in your word and voted against such abominations.
