Fayetteville police identified Robert Robinson, 23, of Fayetteville as the man who died Saturday in a motorcycle accident.
Robinson was eastbound on Joyce Boulevard near Parkview Drive about 2 p.m. Saturday when he ran into the rear of a Toyota Corolla that had stopped to make a turn, Cpl. Elliot Luebker said Sunday. Robinson was thrown into another lane and was then struck by another vehicle, he said.
Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene. He died within minutes of the wreck, according to a dispatch log.
Blood samples from the drivers of the two vehicles and from Robinson are being sent to the state crime lab to test for impairments, as per state law, Luebker said.
