Wounded Springdale Man Sought

SPRINGDALE — A man wounded by a gunshot is being sought by police.

Remberto Alexander Rivera, 23, is being sought in connection with felony possession of a firearm by a felon and filing a false police report.

Rivera is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has a recent gunshot wound to his leg.

An employee of Northwest Medical Center-Springdale reported Tuesday that Rivera was at the emergency room with a bullet wound. A woman with him fled when police arrived.

Rivera told police he was wounded when four men attempted to rob him in the Murphy Park parking lot between the Springdale Youth Center and the Aquatic Center. Police records stated officers thought Rivera might have accidentally shot himself.

Rivera remained in the hospital to have the bullet removed, according to police records. His vehicle was impounded, and a weapon was found in the vehicle. Rivera is on parole, according to police.

Anyone with information on Rivera’s location is asked to call Springdale police at 479-751-4542 or the tip line at 479-750-4484.
