‘Radical Hospitality’

is subject of class

FAYETTEVILLE - A course on “Radical Hospitality” will begin Thursday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The course will be based on the book Radical Hospitality: Benedict’s Way of Love by Daniel Homan and Lonni Collins. Participants will learn about Benedictine spirituality, as well as the prayer practice known as lectio divina. The course will be led by Katherine Barnhart and John Morgan, Benedictine oblates of St. Scholastica Monastery in Fort Smith.

The class will be 6-8 pm. Thursdays through May 4. Tuition is $30 and includes materials. Registration is available at stpaulsfay.org. Information is available by calling (479) 442-7373. The church is at 224 N. East Ave.

Interactive display

on child poverty

BENTONVILLE - Christian ministry Compassion International will bring an interactive display to Bentonville Friday-Feb. 17 to highlight its child sponsorship program. The exhibit, “Change the Story: The Compassion Experience,” will allow visitors to see what daily life is like for children living in poverty in other countries. The display will be set up in the parking lot of First Baptist Church, 220 S. Main St.

Visitors can take a 20-minute, self-guided tour to see and hear the stories of one of three children living in India, Uganda or Bolivia. The 3,100-square-foot exhibit features replicas of the homes and environments of the three children who were helped through Compassion International’s child sponsorship. The event is free.

Addiction seminar

set for caregivers

EUREKA SPRINGS - Christview Ministries Center will offer a workshop -“How Can I Help Someone With Addictions?” - 9 a.m.-noon Feb. 22. The workshop is for individuals who want to understand addiction and learn about tools for helping addicts without hurting themselves. Vickie Poulson, a certified drug and alcohol counselor working with Fresh Roots Family Counseling in Rogers, will lead the workshop. Poulson recently founded Jeremiah House, a Christian recovery home for women with addictions.
