SPRINGDALE— A Springdale man faces felony charges after police said he raped a 13-year-old girl he met on Facebook.
Police arrested Roberto Batres, 29, of 2390 Bering Place in connection with felony rape and sexual indecency with a child.
According to an arrest report, Batres met a 13-year-old girl on Facebook. He told police he met the girl in front of her house in Springdale and they drove to his house on Bering Place.
Investigators said Batres had sex with the girl in the passenger seat of his car, while it was parked in his driveway.
Batres told police he thought the girl was 15 and he “felt bad” that she was so young, according to the report.
He was arrested and taken to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was being held Saturday without bond.
