Teens can learn dating safety

All teens wanting to learn about safe dating are invited to attend the Bentonville Public Library’s Dating Awareness Safety workshop at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. The workshop is a part of the Teen Life Skills workshops where teens can learn a wide array of topics that will prepare them for life outside of high school. This program is for teenagers in seventh through 12th grade.

The workshop will be a session where teens can hear from professionals about the warning signs of unsafe relationships. February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month, a national event focused on educating teens and adults about being aware of dating violence.

Dawn Spragg of Teen Action Support Center will co-present with the Bentonville Police Department about safe dating in the21st century.

Any teens interested in attending the workshop are encouraged to sign up for the event at www.bentonvillelibrary.org.

Architecture topic for lecture series

David Jameson will present a lecture titled “What’s Next?” at 5:30 p.m. Monday in Ken and Linda Sue Shollmier Hall, Room 250 of Vol Walker Hall, on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville, as part of the Fay Jones School of Architecture lecture series.

This is the Lewis Architects Engineers lecture.

The public is invited to attend. Admission is free, with limited seating.
