Kum & Go opens new outlet in Lowell

Kum & Go opened a convenience store Dec. 12 at 104 N. Bloomington St. in Lowell.

The 5,000-square-foot store replaces the outlet across the street at 104 S. Bloomington St. This is the third Kum & Go in Lowell.

The store offers an array of made-to-order pizzas, baked goods and breakfast and deli sandwiches. Fuel options include diesel and E-85.

The company has more than 430 convenience stores in 11 states and 46 in Arkansas.

Washington Regional earns care award

Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville was recognized by VHA Inc., a national health care network, for outstanding clinical performance.

The Clinical Excellence Award for Core Clinical Process acknowledges Washington Regional's performance in treating heart attacks, heart failure and pneumonia, and for the prevention of surgical site infections.

Based on hospital performance data during four consecutive quarters ending June 30, VHA recognized Washington Regional for achieving an average performance score equal to or exceeding 98 percent in each of the four categories.
