UALR offering research opportunities

The application period for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock's annual Summer Undergraduate Program of Entrepreneurship and Research Scholars is now open.

Known as SUPER Scholars, the program offers a cross-disciplinary summer research and entrepreneurship opportunity for science, technology, engineering and mathematics majors at universities and colleges across the United States who have preferably completed their junior year.

The deadline for the first round of consideration is Jan. 31, a news release said.

If selected, students can take advantage of free, on-campus accommodations while earning a monthly $1,300 research stipend during summer 2015.

Abhijit Bhattacharyya, associate dean of UALR's Donaghey College of Engineering and Information Technology, said the goal is to notify all student applicants of their status by mid-March 2015.
