North Little Rock 61, Rogers High 21

North Little Rock jumped on Rogers High early and often to defeat the Lady Mounties in a nonconference game Friday night.

North Little Rock (9-1) made 5-of-6 shots from the field the first four minutes of the game for a 11-2 lead. North Little Rock led 16-4 at the end of the first quarter and 30-9 at halftime after reeling off a 14-0 run. The Lady Mounties were 4-of-22 shooting in the first half, including 1-of-6 from 3-point range.

"Got overwhelmed by a really talented group," said Rogers coach Preston Early. " Our young guys got baptized into the big-time tonight. We will own it, learn from it, and grow from it."

The Lady Mounties (5-5) return to action December 30 when they face Gentry at 10 a.m. in the first round of the Siloam Springs Holiday Festival.

Greenwood 69, Bentonville 45

The Greenwood Lady Bulldogs put up 22 points in each of the opening quarters and breezed away from Bentonville.

Greenwood (10-1) drilled five 3-pointers in the first quarter on the way to doubling up the Lady Tigers, 22-13.

"They know the basis has to be defense and rebounding," Greenwood head coach Clay Reeves said. "We can control those two things. We fed off our defense and rebounding, it helped our offense."

Maddie Goodner, Sarah Elkins and Peyton Clements nailed treys in the first quarter before Megan Hartness hit two in a row for a 20-11 lead. Hartness fed Goodner on a fast-break layup for the 22-13 lead before Madison Brittain ended the first quarter with a bucket for Bentonville.

"Megan played really well and got hot," Bentonville coach Tom Halbmaier said. "That helped them get confidence and continued on."

Greenwood hit 10 of 13 from the field in the second quarter and scored 22 points again for a 44-26 halftime advantage, forcing 12 turnovers in the first half.

Hartness finished with her uniform number with 32 points, including five 3-pointers, and four steals.

Peyton Taylor had 14 points to lead Bentonville. Martin added 13.

Greenland 80, Haas Hall 27

Kiana Thompson scored a game-high 15 points to lead Greenland to the convincing 53-point blowout win in its final game before Christmas.

Kelsey Vaughn added 12 points and Allie Arnold 11 for the Lady Pirates (11-1, 2-0 3A-1 West), who had 12 players score in the rout. Greenland led 28-4 after one quarter and 54-12 at halftime.

Greenland will play Sacred Heart in the Alma Tournament on Dec. 27 at 3:30 p.m.

Life Way 45, Garrett Memorial 40

Hannah Daniel scored a game-high 24 points and set a personal milestone in the process as the Lady Warriors claimed a victory.

Daniel's night put her over the 1,000-career point mark.

Boys

Decatur 49, Johnson County Westside 32

Decatur (7-4, 1-0) used a 14-2 run in the second quarter to spark a victory over Johnson County Westside in the conference opener. Mario Urquidi led 10 Bulldogs in the scoring column with 11 points.

Haas Hall 55, Greenland 38

Lemuel Reber scored 17 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as Haas Hall claimed its first-ever 3A-1 West Conference win after moving up from Class A this season.

Caleb Maddock added 14 for the Mastiffs (7-8, 1-1).

Life Way 47, Garrett Memorial 35

The Warriors rolled to a big win behind Nathan Taylor's team-high 14 points.

Reagan Bayar and Dylan Goates each scored 10 for Life Way (8-6).

The Warriors return to action on Jan. 6 at Ozark Adventist Academy in Gentry.

Late Thursday

Providence Academy 52, Will Rogers Collegiate 46

Sophomore SK Shittu had a double-double with 19 points and 19 rebounds as the Patriots eased past Will Rogers Collegiate on Thursday.

Lukas Durasas added 14 points and Rokas Grabliauskas chipped in 12 for Providence (12-6), who was schedule to take on two-time defending Oklahoma Class 5A state champion Tulsa (Okla.) Memorial on Friday.
