Special agents with the Criminal Investigation Division of the Arkansas State Police were assisting the Logan County sheriff's office Thursday in investigating the deaths of a Logan County man and woman, according to a state police news release.
The agencies began investigating the deaths of Jerry Ewing, 71, and his daughter Leslie Ewing, 39, the release stated. The bodies have been sent to the state Crime Laboratory to determine the manner and cause of their deaths.
The sheriff's office received a call about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday requesting that a deputy be sent to 148 Old Sandy Road north of Paris. The state police released no details about the deaths. The sheriff's office did not respond to requests for comment Thursday.
The state police news release stated that there was no evidence to begin a search for any suspects associated with the deaths.
