ROGERS -- Connor McNulty was one of Rogers Heritage's top hitters and blockers this season. McNulty will continue her volleyball career next year in college, signing a national letter of intent Wednesday to play at Christian Brothers University in Memphis.

The 5-foot-10 senior middle blocker helped lead the Lady War Eagles to consecutive state tournament appearances, including the first postseason win in school history this year over Mount St. Mary. She earned all-conference honors and ranked as the team's leading blocker and set a single-season school record this season in blocks, while ranking second in kills.

Heritage volleyball coach Sarah Miser said McNulty, who will redshirt next year with the NCAA Division II Lady Buccaneers, made enormous improvements in her high school career.

"Coming in as a sophomore I called her the baby giraffe, she was a little awkward, still kinda growing," Miser said. "By the end of her sophomore year she was a pretty consistent varsity player for us. She stepped in and helped us her junior year.

"As a senior, she was one of our top two hitters. She was someone the team depended on to put the ball down. A dramatic progression. Connor's probably one of the player's I've seen in my coaching career to make the most improvement. I think she will only get better in college."
