Beaver Lake: Striped bass are biting lures and bait at Beaver Lake.

James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said striper fishing is good between Prairie Creek and Horseshoe Bend parks. Jigging spoons are the best lure, but some top-water action is reported. Brood minnows are the best bait. Fish 5 to 20 feet deep.

Action is good all day, he said. Stripers to 40 pounds have been caught this week.

Black bass can be caught with crawdad colored crank baits, shad-colored jerk baits or Alabama rigs. Crappie are biting jigs 5 to 15 feet deep in the midlake area around brush and docks.

Average water temperature at Beaver Lake is 49 to 53 degrees.

Garland Villines at Hickory Creek Marina said crappie are biting jigs or minnows 5 to 15 feet deep on the south end of Beaver Lake. Some anglers are catching limits. Others are getting skunked, he said.

Black bass fishing is good in shallow water with crank baits, jigs and Alabama rigs. Stripers are biting shad or brood minnows near Point 12, Villines said.

Beaver tailwater: Lisa Mullins at the Beaver Dam Store said the best flies for trout fishing are pheasant-tails or gray scuds in size 14-18.

The top bait is white or yellow Power Bait tipped with a waxworm. For lures, try small black jigs or small Colorado spoons.

Lake Fayetteville: Dolly Black at Lake Fayetteville boat dock reports little fishing activity. Try trolling or still fishing with jigs for crappie 5 to 20 feet deep. Try crickets or worms for bluegill 5 to 10 feet deep.

The lake will be closed Dec. 24-Jan. 14.

Lake Sequoyah: Mike McBride at Lake Sequoyah bait shop said crappie fishing is good with minnows or jigs 4 feet deep over 8 feet of water. Black bass fishing is good with swim baits.

Swepco Lake: James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said black bass are biting swim baits, jigs or a variety of soft plastics 2 to 15 feet deep.

Bella Vista: Nick Gann at Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista said black bass fishing is slow at all Bella Vista lakes. A few are being caught with jigs or Alabama rigs fished deep.

Trout at Lake Brittany are biting Power Bait or small spoons.

Eastern Oklahoma: The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports fair crappie fishing at Grand Lake with minnows or jigs around brush and docks. Catfish are fair on cut bait or shad on the main lake.
