Company Investing $2 million, Adding 20 Jobs

Wachter Inc. is investing $2 million in its Lowell facility and adding 20 jobs, according to the Rogers-Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Lenexa, Kan.,-based company is a service provider of electrical, data, communications, automation and other complex building systems. It serves clients in many fields from retail to industrial manufacturing.

The Lowell office is at 1419 W. Monroe Ave., and will have a staff of 260 people after the expansion. The office specializes in engineering, project management and installation services for voice and data projects.

William Wachter started the firm in 1930 as an electrical services company. It was recently named among the top 50 electrical contractors in the United States by Electrical Construction & Maintenance magazine.

The business holds electrical licenses in all 50 states.

"Wachter's decision to expand this facility is a testament to the quality of work produced by the company's existing employees in Lowell," said Grant Tennille, executive director of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. "We appreciate Wachter's continued commitment to growing and investing in Arkansas."

Watcher opened in Lowell in 2003.
