CAVE SPRINGS -- A reception for the opening of the 2014 Illinois River Watershed Art Series will be held today.
The reception is hosted by the Illinois River Watershed Partnership and will be from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Watershed Learning Center, 221 S. Main St. The event is open to the public.
The Watershed Art Series features a collection of plein air paintings by John P. Lasater IV, who is the artist-in-residence for the Illinois River Watershed Partnership. These paintings feature the scenic beauty of the Illinois River Watershed of Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma, according to a news release.
Lasater will be on hand to meet the public, and light refreshments will be served. The 2014 Illinois River Watershed Art Series is made possible by a grant from the Windgate Foundation.
