Two Arrested In Connection With Vehicle Break-Ins

FAYETTEVILLE -- A man and woman from Tulsa, Okla., face 13 felonies and two misdemeanors in connection with four vehicle break-ins over the weekend, according to arrest reports.

More than $20,000 in items were stolen, police said.

Michael Michlich, 28, was arrested Sunday afternoon in connection with four counts of felony breaking or entering, and one count of felony theft by receiving and first-degree criminal mischief, and misdemeanor possessing instruments of crime.

Sandra Phillips, 30, was arrested in connection with four counts of felony breaking or entering, and one count of felony theft by receiving, theft of property and first-degree criminal mischief, and misdemeanor possessing instruments of crime.

Police found a blue Ford Ranger stolen from the Quality Inn Motel, 735 S. Shiloh Drive in Fayettevillle, at Walmart, 2875 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., according to an arrest report. Surveillance footage showed Michlich with the truck about 9:40 a.m., according to the report. Phillips arrived moments later in a white GMC Sierra and picked up Michlich, according to the report.

They returned four hours later.

More than $20,000 in stolen items were found, including a Dell laptop, work documents, binoculars, a phone, purses, clothing, flashlights, pocket knives, gloves, pry tools, box blades, screwdrivers and a glass-breaking tool, according to the report.

The items were stolen from different parts of town, police said. An investigation continued Monday night.

Both were being held Monday in the Washington County Detention Center without bond.
