Police Find $30,000 Of Stolen Property

FAYETTEVILLE -- Three people were arrested Sunday while police were investigating a report of theft.

Teri Baber, 60, 11176 Ed Edwards Road in Fayetteville was arrested in connection with two counts of felony possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of felony violation of probation or a suspended sentence.

Baber called the Fayetteville Police Department to report she had information regarding a stolen vehicle, according to arrest reports.

Baber took police to the vehicle and said a woman was at Baber's home with several stolen items, according to the reports.

Police found a truck, a $30,000 ring, other jewelry and an Apple computer at Baber's residence, according to the reports.

Police also found three marijuana pipes, three bent spoons, several pill bottles and a syringe, according to the reports.

Melinda Moore, 30, of 617 S. Government Ave. in Fayetteville was arrested in connection with two counts of felony possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of felony theft by receiving.

Cody Smith, 38, of 1114 S. Duncan Ave. in Fayetteville was arrested in connection with felony possession of drug paraphernalia and theft by receiving.

Smith told police the truck was stolen in Pope County and he bought it from Moore for $100, according to the reports. Other miscellaneous stolen items were found in his pockets.

The three were being held Monday in the Washington County Detention Center without bond.
