FAYETTEVILLE -- Jabril Durham, taking advantage of a spot in the starting lineup, hit open three-pointers to start both halves as Arkansas defeated Dayton 69-55 on Saturday afternoon at Walton Arena.

Durham made his first start since the season opener and hit 3 of 3 three-point shots to go along with 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 9 points in 25 minutes.

"I was really just feeling it today, starting from pregame," said Durham, who credited Bobby Portis and Michael Qualls with helping pull defenders away. "I get wide-open shots because they have all the help."

Arkansas Coach Mike Anderson said Durham benefited from hitting his first shot.

"That did so much for his confidence, and defensively he did a lot of good things as well," Anderson said.

Anderson shook up his starting lineup after back-to-back losses, inserting Durham at guard for senior Ky Madden and Jacorey Williams at forward for Alandise Harris.

"The guys starting out I thought brought a little freshness to that starting lineup," Anderson said. "Jacorey's energy was contagious out there. Very, very active. He had three assists in the first half. Of the 15 field goals we had in the first half, we had 12 assists."

Portis' band

Arkansas big man Bobby Portis slung his headband off the court toward the Razorbacks' bench after a no-call on a collision with a couple of Dayton players in the second half.

A reporter asked Portis about ditching his trademark headband.

"It was just too sweaty," Portis said. "I didn't want to put it back on."

Portis is also aware a fake Twitter account has been set up for his headband.

"I'm going to follow him," Portis said. "I'm going to shout him out too."

Oh, Moses

Center Moses Kingsley made a quick impact after making his entrance Saturday.

Kingsley scored a layup on a pass from Alandise Harris about a minute after coming in at the 14:32 mark.

Moments later the 6-10 sophomore blocked a shot by Jalen Robinson. Within three minutes, Kingsley had another blocked shot, grabbed rebounds on both ends of the floor and teamed with Harris to draw a charge before his first stint ended.

Kingsley received a big ovation when he was replaced by Bobby Portis after his first run.

Kingsley added a coast-to-coast drive and layup after tipping a defensive rebound out to himself to give Arkansas a 53-36 lead in the second half.

"Moses always does that in practice, I was just surprised that Moses took that to the game," Portis said. "It was kind of cool for us sitting over there on the bench to see him do that."

Home Hogs

Dayton Coach Archie Miller said his team would benefit from having learned lessons about pressure in the loss to Arkansas.

"Credit Arkansas, a really, really fun team to watch and prepare for," Miller said. "We'll learn from it. You know, it happens sometimes.

"Arkansas was the much better team today. You know if we played them 10 times down here, I don't know what the score would be, but they're going to win the majority of them. I do think it's different to play them on your home floor or on a neutral floor as well. It's not as amped up.

"Obviously this is a great place to play games and the winning percentage speaks for itself."
