Holiday Train -- The Creekmore Holiday Express continues its chug around Fort Smith with a colorful journey through hundreds of animated lights adorning Creekmore Park during the holidays. The train runs 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. daily except Sunday through Dec. 23. Free. fortsmithparks.com.

Stroll The Springs -- Enjoy this guided tour through illuminated springs and be sure to stop on local families' porches for goodies and stories among the lit luminaries of Upper Spring Street. The tour at Sweet Spring, next to Rogues Manor Restaurant, and continues to Harding Spring, Crescent Spring and ends at Grotto Spring. "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" -- The Herdmans are terrible children, barely able to not burn down the church, let alone perform in one. This coming-of age-tale represents the true meaning of Christmas with innocence and hilarity. 7:30 p.m. today and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the Arts Center of the Ozarks at 214 S. Wreath Ceremony -- The citizens of the greater Fort Smith region in partnership with Wreaths Across America transform the Fort Smith National Cemetery into a beautiful scene to honor service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice by placing wreaths on each of the more than 15,850 headstones. A service branch salute will sound at 10:15 a.m. followed by family distribution at 10:30 a.m. The nationwide tribute will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday. Free. christmashonors.org.

Holiday Concert -- Students from the Will Bush Violin Studio in Springdale will present a concert of holiday music at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History in Springdale. The students will perform Christmas hymns and carols, fiddle tunes and classical music of the season on violin, viola, cello, and guitar at 118 W. Johnson Ave. Free. 750-8764 or shilohmuseum.org.

Holiday & History -- Enjoy cookies, hot chocolate and free museum admission after the Fort Smith Christmas Parade from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Fort Smith Museum of History. Learn the history of the city and enjoy the traditions of the open house. Free. 783-7841 or fortsmithmuseum.com.

Visit Santa on the Caboose -- Boys and girls are invited to visit Santa on the Frisco Caboose from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m Saturday. Take family photos and deliver holiday wishes to Santa. Gardenland Express -- Enjoy the last weekend for the Gardenland Express. The event includes a display of model trains in a winter wonderland setting, refreshments and visits with Santa. This year's new feature will be hayrides outdoors around the perimeter of the gardens. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Sunday at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks at 4703 N.
