At least three ambulances were on scene following reports of a hazardous material release at the Tyson Chick N Quick plant in Rogers.

Twenty-three people were taken to hospitals — some in private vehicles — following an ammonia leak Wednesday afternoon at the Tyson Chick N Quick plant at 400 W. Olrich St. in Rogers, said Fire Chief Tom Jenkins.

Two of the people in the incident suffered serious injuries, Jenkins said.

Capt. Dennis Thurman said the leak was contained inside the building and there was no threat to the public.

The leak was over by 5 p.m., according to a post on the department's Facebook page, and no evacuations were required.
