Iowa State routs Arkansas in top 25 matchup

Arkansas' first top 25 matchup in 14 years played out like many of its road games in years past.

The No. 18 Razorbacks lost 95-77 at No. 20 Iowa State on Thursday at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa. The loss was Arkansas' first of the season.

Bryce DeJean Jones scored 27 points and Georges Niang added 26 points as the Cyclones dominated the Razorbacks from start to finish. Iowa State hit 64 percent of its field goal attempts, including 10 of 19 attempts from 3-point range.

The Cyclones (5-1) led 52-32 at halftime and by as many as 23 points in the second half. Arkansas cut the lead to 11 points midway through the second half, but couldn't get any closer.

Bobby Portis led the Razorbacks with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Alandise Harris added 15 points and Ky Madden scored 13 points.

Arkansas (6-1) made 48 percent of its shots, but its defense couldn't slow the Iowa State offense. The Cyclones' starters combined to score 88 points and hit 30 of 44 field goal attempts.

The Razorbacks travel to Clemson on Sunday.
