GOLF

Razorbacks sixth in California

Arkansas shot a 363 in the second round of the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, Calif., to move into sixth place.

After two rounds, the Razorbacks have an even-par 720, 10 shots back of Georgia. TCU and Texas Tech are tied for second at 711 while South Carolina is fourth at 714 and Vanderbilt is fifth at 717.

Arkansas’ Kolton Crawford is tied for fourth overall with a 4-under-par 140 and Alvaro Ortiz is tied for ninth at 142.

Arkansas State falls at Auburn

Arkansas State lost 25-21, 25-20, 25-16 to Auburn on Saturday at the George Washington Invitational in Washington, D.C.

Shelby Holmes led the Red Wolves with 10 kills while Mallory Washington had 21 assists and 15 digs. Markie Schaedig had 19 digs and Kelsey Reis had three blocks.

Arkansas ties Texas

Following a two-hour lightning delay, Arkansas and Texas played to a 0-0 tie at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.

Both teams had one shot on goal in the first half before Arkansas had seven shots in the second half and four in overtime. Sarah Price, Alexandra Fischer, Tyler Allen and Claire Kelly had scoring chances, but were denied. In overtime, Ashleigh Ellenwood had a shot that went wide and in the second overtime, Kelley’s header bounced off the crossbar.

Texas’ best chance came with three minutes left in the second half, but Abby Smith’s free kick was stopped by Cameron Carter.

Arkansas (2-0-1) meets Stephen F. Austin at 11 a.m. today.

Lyon, Milligan tie

Lyon College’s Abdullah Adam came off the bench Saturday to score two second-half goals to force overtime in a 3-3 tie with Milligan College in Lebanon, Tenn.

Adam’s first goal came from 10 yards out at the 56:59 mark to tie the game at 2-2. Jonathan Colson put Milligan up 3-2 4:01 later before Adam scored at the 71:29 mark on a rebound.

Neither team had a shot in the first overtime period, while the host Buffaloes outshot the Scots 4-2 in the second overtime.

Lyon (1-1-1) hosts Bethel University at 3 p.m. today.
