Chandeliers hanging from the tall ceiling, dramatic blue up-lighting on the draped walls and tables covered in black cloths centered with tapered white candles in clear wine bottles. These touches and more helped transform The Metroplex into an elegant setting for Taste of the Finest on Aug. 22.

The event, a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, began with a VIP reception with tastings of foods from Cache Restaurant and Arthur's Prime Steakhouse. Thirteen other local restaurants also offered samples, including Indian cuisine, homemade ice cream and gourmet pizza.

Several young professionals were honored for their success in business, community involvement and support of the foundation. They were Jack Allen, Tori Jones, Roane Ashmore, Lauren Manatt, Erin Cullum Marcussen, Dennis Curtis, Chris McNulty, Kate Daniel, Blake Poole, Allison Davis, Andrea Rabeneck, Jason Dickinson, Megan Rugg, Tisha Gribble, Carmen Smith, Whitney Guy, Bryan Spriggs, Sam Head, Russel Viegas, Erin Hohnbaum, Jon Viguerie, Beth Hunt, Chris Vincent, Camden Hyneman and Lee Welfel.

Brittany Marsh was presented the Todd Miles award as the top fundraiser.

A silent auction and music by Tragikly White rounded out the evening, which raised more than $99,000.

The foundation supports the development of drugs to fight cystic fibrosis, helps to improve the quality of life for those with CF and has the ultimate goal of finding a cure.
