Springdale High def. Van Buren 3-1

Springdale High wrapped up a busy opening week with a second straight win Thursday night.

The Lady Bulldogs topped Van Buren 3-1 (26-24, 14-25, 25-18, 25-19) to claim their second victory in three days after beating Huntsville in four sets Tuesday.

Junior outside hitter Desiree Mack had another big game, finishing with a team-high 20 kills for Springdale (2-1). Junior middle blocker Ryann Goodsell had nine kills and five blocks, junior setter Maddie Mueller finished with four aces and Sarahbeth Coleman contributed three blocks.

Springdale will open up 7A-West play at Rogers High on Thursday.

Rogers Heritage def. Bryant 3-0

The Lady War Eagles served up 21 aces collectively to take a 25-14, 25-13, 25-18 victory over Bryant at War Eagle Arena.

Connor McNulty led the parade from the service line with six aces, while Maddie Hotelling, Bailey Baxendale and Elleson Dunagin had four aces each for the Lady War Eagles (2-1).

Dunagin finished with 12 kills, while Hotelling chipped in with eight. Alye Darter finished with a team-high 23 digs and Baxendale dished out 17 assists.

Bentonville def. Springfield (Mo.) Kickapoo 3-0

Anna LeDuc had 15 kills to lead Bentonville to a 25-17, 25-15, 25-23 victory over Kickapoo in Tiger Arena.

"The girls were just phenomenal," Bentonville coach Michelle Smith said. "That's the best I've seen them play all year."

Sadie Pate had 12 kills and three aces for the Lady Tigers (2-0), while Anna Palasak added seven. Savannah King had a team-high 26 digs, while Haley Seyfarth had 14 assists and 13 digs. Ashton Tate chipped in 14 assists and three aces.

Bentonville returns to action Saturday afternoon with its first road match as the Lady Tigers travel to Jenks, Okla.

Kathalina Nanthavong had 9 digs and 4 aces to power Rogers High to a nonconference sweep of Shiloh Christian 25-15, 25-9.

Emily Harris had 6 kills and Hannah Martin had 5 kills for Rogers (3-0)

The Lady Mounties return to action at Bentonville Gold on Wednesday.

CrossFit Event This Weekend In Bentonville

The Mid America CrossFit Championship will be held this weekend at the Tiger Athletic Complex in Bentonville.

The event begins today and ends Sunday as competitors will prove their strength, stamina, speed, agility and accuracy across a broad range of fitness challenges incorporating gymnastics, plyometrics, calisthenics and Olympic weightlifting, the release states.

Athletes will be competing head-to-head in CrossFit style workouts from 6 to 9 p.m. today, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free and open to the public.
