Public Viewpoint: Newspaper Article Was Misleading

The lead article in the Aug. 3 edition dealt with Environmental Protection Agency's proposed rule concerning coal-fired plants.

I believe the EPA (like the IRS) has become an ideological agency and is doing the bidding of far-left environmentalists. These groups are more interested in using "global warming" as a wedge issue to gain grants from the EPA and to control the economy. Breitbart New Network reported last week there is a group of billionaires providing the financial support to lobbyists to further their interests in this regard. Tom Steyer and Hank Paulson were named as two principals involved. Breitbart secured the details from a study released by the minority party in the U.S. Senate.

Secondly, I take issue with the statement that "Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree that climate-warming trends over the past century are very likely due to human activities." This is hardly settled science, and I believe there are as many scientists or more who disagree with those who say it is settled.

Thirdly, 10 states filed suit recently against the EPA and its proposed rule as the validity of their findings is being seriously questioned.

Something Doesn't Register

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that if you put an electric trolling motor on a canoe, you are required to register it, but you can ride a gasoline-powered motor scooter on all roads and highways, impeding traffic, and not have to license it?
