A Carroll County man appeared in federal court Friday on charges of distribution of methamphetamine, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Conner Eldridge.

Fernando Canales-Mendoza was the target of an investigation into meth distribution in Eureka Springs, according to the news release. Investigators executing search warrants found about 140 grams of meth, the news release stated.

“Kids in Carroll County and all across our district deserve to grow up in communities free from drug trafficking and the violence and other crime that comes with it," Eldridge said in the news release. "Our office remains focused on identifying and prosecuting those responsible for bringing large amounts of methamphetamine and other drugs onto our streets. I appreciate the cooperative effort in this investigation between the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.”
