Man said to visit hospital, kill wife

STRATFORD, N.J. — A New Jersey man shot and killed his hospitalized wife, then tried to kill himself Wednesday, prompting investigators to search the couple’s home, where they found the pair’s son dead of a gunshot wound, authorities said.

The Camden County prosecutor’s office is investigating links between the two deaths, including whether the same handgun was used.

Officials said 63-year-old Raymond Wychowanec signed in at Kennedy University Hospital in Stratford, N.J., a suburb of Philadelphia, about 9:25 a.m. to visit his wife.
