FAYETTEVILLE -- Two fires involving three vehicles, one of which belonged to Brandon Allen, quarterback for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks, were reported early Monday morning.

The fires happened at 1:34 a.m. at 711 W. Douglas St. and at 3:59 a.m. at 1125 W. Hendrix St., said Sgt. Craig Stout, public information officer at the Police Department.

Allen stood on Hendrix and watched his 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche burn, said Bret Bielema, Razorbacks head coach, during a video news release.

Bielema said Allen called him and said he was watching his pickup burn across the street, the Fire Department was there and his dad was on his way.

The fire was put out within 15 minutes, said Mauro Campos, battalion chief and public information officer for the department.

The fire on Douglas also spread to a 2013 Toyota Prius and damaged part of the exterior of the apartment.

It was unclear how the fires started, Campos said Monday evening. Authorities are trying to determine if the two fires are related. The addresses are one mile apart.

"At this point we don't know," Stout said. "It's still too early in the investigation."

"They (authorities) started a formal investigation, (I) don't know about all of the details right now, I just know that 'BA' is completely safe. He lives with a couple (of) other players and former players so they're all, it was our first priority to make sure everybody was safe and taken care of. Right now we're just allowing them to work through the process between the Fire Department and Police Department," Bielema said.
