Rozelle-built house next stop on tour

Tuesday, August 26, 2014

The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program's next Sandwiching in History tour will visit the Rozelle-Murphy House at 1301 Scott St. in Little Rock at noon Sept. 5.

The Queen Anne-style house in the MacArthur Park Historic District was built about 1887 by George Rozelle, owner of a brokerage firm. The house was later sold to George Murphy, Arkansas' attorney general from 1901-05.

The house now holds the law offices of Emerson Poynter.

The free Sandwiching in History tour series targets Pulaski County structures and sites. The noontime series includes a brief lecture and tour of the subject property. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunches.
