Body of woman pulled from river

POCAHONTAS -- Authorities sent the body of a Randolph County woman found in the Current River to the state Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for an autopsy, Randolph County Sheriff Gary Tribble said Monday.

Deputies and Arkansas Game and Fish Commission officers recovered the body of Robin Due, 27, of Maynard near the Johnson's Eddy of the Current River north of Biggers on Sunday.

Tribble said his office received a call at 11:30 a.m. Sunday about a woman missing at a boat access of the river.

Officers soon found Due's body less than a quarter of a mile from the access, the sheriff said. The river was shallow in spots because of a lack of rainfall, and deputies' boats had difficulty navigating it, Tribble said.

Tribble said he doesn't suspect foul play but asked for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

"We want to determine how long she was dead," Tribble said. "We're still investigating this."
