3 killed in wrecks on Arkansas roads

A 73-year-old woman died Monday after a car accident at a Pine Bluff intersection, according to police.

Floyd Wooley, 73, of Pine Bluff was driving a Nissan Quest north on Blake Street about 11:15 a.m. His wife, Alice Wooley, was in the passenger's seat.

While attempting to turn left onto 13th Avenue, Wooley struck a Toyota Camry driven by 32-year-old Anetra Wyatt, according to a statement from Pine Bluff police.

Wyatt and the Wooleys were taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Alice Wooley was pronounced dead by an ER physician at 12:05 p.m. Floyd Wooley's and Wyatt's injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

Earlier on Monday, an Monticello man died in a head-on collision on U.S. 425, according to Arkansas State Police.

Keith Perrigen, 43, was driving his Hyundai south about 5:30 a.m. in Lincoln County near the Drew County line. While driving on a curve, Perrigen crossed the center line and into oncoming traffic, state police said. He collided head on with a Ford van driven by 50-year-old Willie Montgomery of Mabelvale.

Perrigen was pronounced dead at the scene. Montgomery was transported to UAMS in Little Rock. His condition was not available Monday.

A Texarkana woman died Sunday after losing control of her car and striking a tree, state police said.

Jerri Etzkorn, 54, was eastbound on Interstate 30 in Clark County about 6:30 p.m. Sunday. According to an accident report, Etzkorn was driving at a "high rate of speed" in the left lane. When she attempted to cut in between two cars, she struck the back of a GMC driven by 61-year-old John Cuce of Goodlettsville, Tenn.

Etzkorn then lost control of her Honda, left the road and struck a large pine tree, state police said.

Etzkorn was pronounced dead at the scene. Cuce was not injured.
