Report: Unlicensed tattooist kept tools

A North Little Rock man arrested on drug charges Saturday was also charged with keeping tattoo equipment in the back of his van without a license, according to police.

Police said they stopped Fabian Lavell Booth Jr., 22, at 101 Sante Fe Trail in Jacksonville about 7:20 p.m. because of a traffic violation. Officers said that they then discovered Booth had fictitious tags, no proof of insurance and a suspended driver's license, according to an arrest report.

During a search of Booth's vehicle, police purportedly found marijuana, oxycodone, Alprazolam and a digital scale.

Police said they also found an assortment of tattoo ink, a foot pedal, ink guns and needles. According to an arrest report, Booth admitted that he did not have a tattoo license.

Booth was booked into Pulaski County jail on possession of marijuana, oxycodone and Alprazolam with purpose to deliver, as well as possessing tattoo equipment without a license. He was also booked on charges of fictitious license plates, no proof of insurance, driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Booth's bail was set at $7,360. He remained on the jail's roster late Sunday.

Man accused, held in church break-in

A Jacksonville man was arrested early Sunday over accusations that he broke into a church.

Officers responded to Greater New Hope Baptist Church, 1723 W. 44th St. in North Little Rock, about 12:30 a.m. Sunday after someone reported seeing a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. When police arrived, they found 34-year-old Graydon Newingham in a storage area below one of the church's stairwells, according to an arrest report.

During a search, officers purportedly found two pipes in Newingham's pockets. Church representatives said nothing was missing from the storage area.

Newingham was booked into Pulaski County jail on charges of breaking and entering and possession of drug paraphernalia.
