Somebody Can Change Anybody, Pastor Shares

Q. List your education and work experience.

A. Bachelor's degree of religion from Dallas Baptist University; master's degree of divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas; doctor of ministry degree from Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, Ga. I have been a senior pastor of six churches in Texas and Arkansas. I have also been a professor for two Christian colleges. In addition, I serve as the headquarters chaplain for Tyson Foods, where I have been employed for nearly nine years.

Q. What was your call to ministry?

A. I was called to the ministry at the age of 15 in Dallas, Texas. I love people and have a gift of mercy. I enjoyed teaching the Scripture in a fun and practical way. I want to make a difference in one life every day.

Q. Tell us something people don't know about you.

A. I love being in our boat on Beaver Lake ... I love spending time with my wife, Rosanne, doing anything she wants. We love going to movies together and going on cruises! I am a football fanatic, fantasy football player, Razorback fan, hunting enthusiast, and I love working with my "Double Knockout" roses and gardening.

Q. What is the message you work to share?

A. I tell people two main things about my life: I am in sales, and the Lord is in management! And I am just a nobody telling everybody about somebody who can change anybody. I love people unconditionally and do everything I can to accept them where they are without judgmentalism. My job is to love them and teach them ... it is the Lord's job to change them.

Q. Do you believe in miracles?

A. Of course, I do. When I was a child, doctors said that I would not live. My father got on his knees in front of a Dallas hospital and begged for my life. The only reason I can write these words today is because there is a God who hears prayer and performs miracles. Smiles.
