Woman bites store guard, police say

A woman attacked and bit a security guard with her removable gold teeth after being confronted about shoplifting Thursday afternoon, Little Rock police reported.

Frances Bradley, 28, tried to leave J.C. Penney at 2600 S. Shackleford Road without paying for $235.98 in unspecified merchandise, according to an arrest report. A security guard recognized her from the previous week, when Bradley purportedly stole $900 in merchandise from the store.

Bradley "fought and bit" the security guard who tried to stop her Thursday, according to the report. Officers noted in the report that Bradley wears removable gold front teeth.

She and the security guard suffered minor abrasions, according to police.

Bradley of North Little Rock was arrested about 3:20 p.m. and charged with robbery. She was additionally charged with failure to appear, for which she had an active arrest warrant.

She was being held in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $15,555 bond late Thursday.

Man charged with shooting stepdad

A North Little Rock man was arrested early Wednesday morning on suspicion of shooting his stepfather, police reported.

Officers responded at 1:39 a.m. to a house at 217 N. Cherry St., where they found a man who had been shot, according to a police report. The victim, who had not been identified by police late Thursday, was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition was unknown.

A witness told police the victim had been shot by his stepson, Brandon Williams. Officers arrested Williams during a traffic stop about 2 a.m., according to the report. He told investigators that he was present when Williams was shot and that he had a gun, but he wasn't the shooter, according to the report.

But the witness identified Williams as the shooter in a photo lineup, police said.

Williams, 22, was charged with first-degree domestic battery. A convicted felon, he was additionally charged with possession of a firearm by certain persons.

Williams, of 4500 Orange St., was being held in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond late Thursday.

Police: Man drove truck toward wife

A Jacksonville man purportedly tried to run over his estranged wife after meeting her at a fast-food restaurant to discuss their divorce Tuesday.

Robert and Debra Washburn met at McDonald's, 816 W. Main St., and began arguing, according to a Jacksonville police report. Robert Washburn brought his girlfriend to the McDonald's, and Debra Washburn became upset when the woman tried to sit with them, the report states. The meeting ended soon after it began.

But the estranged couple continued fighting in the parking lot, and Robert Washburn purportedly drove his truck over a curb toward his wife. Debra Washburn said he was trying to run her over, according to the report. Her friend, Ashley Milligan, who also attended the meeting, gave police the same account.

Robert Washburn was arrested about 7:05 p.m. at his home at 8726 Arkansas 161. He said his foot slipped off the brake in the McDonald's parking lot, according to police.

Washburn, 36, was charged with aggravated assault on a family or household member. He was being held in lieu of bond at the Pulaski County jail late Thursday.

Kid falls from van; woman arrested

A Little Rock woman was arrested Wednesday after a 1-year-old boy in her custody fell from a moving vehicle and injured his head last week.

Shakanambral Hillery, 29, was purportedly driving a day care transport van that the child fell from Aug. 12. A witness told police that the boy was injured outside Archild Day Care Center, 5312 W. 10th St. in Little Rock, according to a court affidavit.

Hillery told the witness that the boy "must have unbuckled himself" from the booster seat, according to the affidavit. The child was taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital for treatment.

Hillery was charged Wednesday with first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor.
