FAYETTEVILLE -- A man was sentenced to 70 years in state prison Tuesday for raping an 8-year-old boy.

Jesse Oziah, 19, of Fayetteville, pleaded guilty to four counts of rape and was sentenced in Washington County Circuit Court to a total of 80 years at the Arkansas Department of Correction with 10 years suspended.

"These are horrible crimes against children that this office takes seriously," said Meika Hatcher, deputy prosecutor. "He's where he needs to be."

Oziah was sentenced last week by U.S. District Judge Tim Brooks to 55 years in federal prison without the possibility of parole followed by 25 years of supervised release for the production of child pornography.

Oziah told investigators he engaged in sexual activity with the boy and took sexually explicit photographs of him and posted them online, according to an affidavit for an arrest warrant filed in the case. Oziah was in the pictures with the boy performing sex acts.

Oziah told officers he also used his computer to view, exchange and download pictures of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Oziah pleaded guilty Feb. 1o in federal court to persuading, inducing, enticing or coercing a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct after authorities found multiple images on a computer at his home.

Several other child porn possession charges were dropped as part of Oziah's federal plea bargain.

Authorities were tipped by a social networking site where the porn was being uploaded. An Internet address was provided and a search warrant obtained for Oziah's home.
