ROGERS -- Planning commissioners are scheduled to review a large-scale development plan for a restaurant at the intersection of J.B. Hunt Road and Pauline Whitaker Parkway on Tuesday.

Meeting Information

Planning Commission

The Rogers Planning Commission is scheduled to meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Entrance is on the northwest side of the building.

Agenda items include:

• A request from Miguel Andrade for a conditional use permit to allow sand, gravel and earth sales at 2301 W. New Hope Road. The property is zoned agriculture.

• A request from NWA Custom Audio & Lighting for a conditional use permit to allow vehicle sales and service at 2403 W. Hudson Road Suite 1.

This will be the second Pei Wei restaurant in Arkansas. The other one is at 205 N. University Ave. in Little Rock, wrote Anne Deanovic, a company public relations officer.

Pei Wei is a fast, casual restaurant that provides a modern, family friendly dine-in experience and takeout convenience. All the food is freshly prepared, made to order and modestly priced, according to company officials.

Pei Wei operates 192 restaurants in 25 states and is owned and operated by P.F. Chang's China Bistro.

A large-scale development plan for Yiannios Dental, a 6,000-square-foot office building planned at 3718 S. Pinnacle Hills Parkway, likely will be tabled, planning officials said.

"Commissioners should table the plan because the final plat for the Pinnacle Hills Office Park hasn't been approved by the City Council," said Derrel Smith, city senior planner. "The developer hadn't competed some of the requirements needed for the final plat to be approved. Aldermen tabled the review of the final plat until the Aug. 26 council meeting."
