Indonesians look at death penalty for U.S. couple

Indonesian police officers escort a face-covered Tommy Schaefer to a hospital Friday for a medical check. Schaefer and his girlfriend were arrested last week in the slaying of the girlfriend’s mother in Bali.

An American couple arrested on the Indonesian resort island of Bali in the slaying of the woman’s mother could be charged with premeditated murder, which carries a maximum penalty of death, police said Saturday.
